Below you will find my Oscar picks. Last year I won some money with my ballot. I can’t recall if I was first or second but I did it by going with my gut. La La Land seemed to be the favorite for everything but I didn’t care, Moonlight made me cry, so I chose it. Same with this year. I honestly can’t see a clear front runner for Best Actor. Denzel is like the free space on a Bingo card at this point and I’m sick of Daniel Day-Lewis getting an automatic Oscar. So, I’m going with Daniel Kaluuya. I’m going with McDormand and Rockwell because even though I haven’t seen Three Billboards, they won the Golden Globe and BAFTA. I’m going with Alison Janney because she’s wonderful. Adapted and Original Screenplays are gut choices, The Disaster Artist and Get Out, respectively. I said above why I chose DeKalb Elementary and Negative Space. The rest are either guesses (I will never get the difference between sound mixing and sound editing) or I’m defaulting to The Shape of Water.
