Eleven wins in a row. I’m kind of speechless.
The last Mets team to have an eleven game winning streak in April was the 1986 Mets.
Before the season started, Michael Cuddyer told the team, “don’t be surprised at your success.” He knew this team could be something special. Maybe there’s something to his veteran presence.
Bartolo Colon is apparently the fourth pitcher in history to start a season 4-0 over the age of 40. The others were Phil Niekro, Nolan Ryan, and Roger Clemens. People say that he’s calm and he just goes out there and does his job but is he the most disinterested athlete in history? He looks like a nightwatchman after a few valiums.
Murph had 4 RBI’s but that botched throw to home when he could have had a double play was brutal. I’m glad he’s getting his bat going, though.
The Mets have the best record in baseball.
Familia leads the league in saves with eight.
Did someone steal the normal Mets and replace them all with a winning team?
Bring on the Yankees.
Also, this could all unravel in a week or two because this is the Mets.
