My girlfriend texted me, “How’s your day?” this afternoon. I said, “It’s pretty Monday-ish.”
I was coding an email at the time. I had a lot of work today and I have to get in early tomorrow morning because a client is coming to the office. I’ll probably still wear a t-shirt and Birkenstocks but the point is that I’ll be there at my desk.
I had therapy tonight after work. I went and then came back to the office because I’m such a good employee. (Actually it’s because I had things to finish up and I didn’t want to leave people in the lurch.) I scrambled to upload presentation slides to Salesforce (people, I do not understand Salesforce, like, not even a little bit) and left in a hurry.
Then I went over to the Magnet Theater for Character Bash. It’s a show featuring comedic characters and tonight was A Night of Fifty Characters, Pt. 2. They did a night of fifty characters last year and I was a part of that, so, it was cool to do it again this year. The audience was full. One of the great things about this show is there are fifty performers there, most of whom are your friends, and everyone wants everybody else to do well. Everyone gets one minute and there are no breaks in between acts. The fact that it’s rapid fire and there’s so much variety makes for a killer show. And people will take risks when they only have a minute, so, you get some great, absurd stuff. It was awesome.
Then I made my way home as my girlfriend texted me stuff about The Bachelorette finale, which is perfectly in line with my level of interest. I want to know what happens without necessarily watching it.
On the train home I thought, “Thank God I get to go home and sleep,” and then I remembered this damn blog.
Yes, I resent the blog every now and then. It’s bound to happen. Sometimes I just want to eat pita chips in my underwear while watching reruns. I don’t want to eat pita chips in my underwear, then turn off the reruns to write. But it’s got to get done.
I’m not going to run tomorrow morning. That will make two days in a row without a morning run and it feels a little strange to be honest. I think I need to give my body a rest and the heat has been crazy lately.
So, yeah, work, shows, pita chips, and underwear. Pretty Monday-ish.
